hi bart ,you did not say if word had been running ok previously,but in any case i would go to microsoft and see if there is any updates your version of word requires,if there is none or it does not fix anything i would remove and reinstall word from scratch to hopefully get rid of any corrupted files.It is also possible that this is simply a registry problem and your machine has somehow just lost sight of the correct word files to start up word,but do not touch the registry without the right instructions ,the easy way out of that is also a re-install of word.Hope this helps.dave
