Computer resetting by itself

Help!! my computer resets by itself for no reason sometimes.. and sometimes my monitor does not come out of standby mode when I press the mouse or keyboard. When I switch my computer on, I have to press the rest button as well, otherwise the monitor will still be in standby mode. Any ideas??

I had the same problem with my monitor. It happened twice,
and thinking back, both times were on a Saturday morning which is when my computer was doing automatic systems maintenance ie disk scan, defragment etc. Once I turned off the auto maintenance it has never happened again. I don't now why, but it may be of some use to you. Good luck
