Displaying 2 Virtual Desktops

I want to have 2 desktops 'tiled' at the same time on a Windows 2000 PC.
Vmware is expensive and requires a second installation of the OS.

Other managers that I can find allow for desktop switching but not for displaying both simultaneously.

Can anyone help?
