Looking for a terminal software.
I want to connect a UNIX-Server (SUN) with my keyspan USB-Serial Adapter.
The device is set in Mac OS X (/dev/tty.Keyspan ...)
know I need a terminal-software which can use the keyspan-device (/dev/tty.keyspan...) to connect to a serial port of a computer.
Thanks.

May I ask why you wish to connect them through serial rather than the usual networking methods ?
Well I use Zterm which is free and works very well when talking to Sparc and other serial interfaces..

Ok. And what do you want to do on the Sun machine ? Can't you simply remote to it if you want to administer it ?
(I'm asking questions just to try and get exactly what you want to do so I can have a better picture.)
Well Yes I guess you can... however if you are installing or reinstalling then no you can't...
Also if you want to get to the firmware prompt or change ethernet address it's kinda easier to do it on a connection that's not going to disappear!! ;)

Anyway it's much more fun sitting at the back of mega racks with just a little 12" powerbook controlling it all

I compeltely agree with that cool feel ! And I agree that ethernet is not the solution... However I have not seen any software for serial for the terminal.. Actually have not seen any thats new since Macs stopped having onboard serials... Sorry I couldn't help !
sorry here's the link:

It claims to still be beta software and I've been running it since I got X and I've never had any problems... yes the interface is not really X like but it does the job just fine!..
You can also compile serial utils and run them in the terminal window.. I've not tried this but did see a hint go by a few days back about it..

Oh I know what Zterm is... Just did not know that anyone still used it realy... Have not done so myself in the last few years... As I said, I have not seen any under X since no computer that comes with X has serial ports... But did you try looking in places such as sourceforge.net cause some one may have developped software for this or writen something on a work around...And sourceforge stuff does not always come up in search engine results.
