That machine shipped with OSX.2.1 and OS9.2.2. I doubt it will boot anything less than those 2 revs.

This is what I got from a web page:
..."
introduced 2002.11.06 at $999 (700 MHz) and $1,299 (800 MHz)
requires Mac OS 9.2.1 or later, Mac OS X 10.1 or later
CPU: 700/800 MHz G3 (PowerPC 750fx?)"...
Apple does not state anything on their info pages though...
why should it actually not boot 10.1 ?
The only thing they changed was the cpu-speed and the graphics card.
Is this such a big deal???
There must be a way...

I haven't seen that web site. Is it from Apple? Generally Apple machines will boot only with the OS they originally came with or later. Thus the issues many people have using older retail disks and disk utilities on them. This has been a problem (feature) for many years now. It makes sense when you think about it. Why go back and rewrite the boot ROMs for older OS's?

ps - I'm a little curious why you want to run OSX.1.x instead of OSX.2.x. The latter is improved in almost every possible way.

The Chud tools 1.1.1 only work in 10.1.x :D
I 'd like to mess a little with my CPU settings...
unfortunately apple disabled that feature in the Chud tools for 10.2.x .
Hmm, now what is easier, getting 10.1.x to work or hacking the chud tools...
