The last time around, I read that people had fewer problems when they used the 10.2.3 "Combo" update instead of the regular one. Because I was doing a clean install of Jaguar at the time, it was a natural choice.
Now that I'm running 10.2.3, is it a wise idea to use the 10.2.4 Combo updater?
Thanks,
slimpy

The stand alone combo updater has fixed numerous problems for those who had problems with the Software Update method. Currently, the 10.2.4 stand alone combo updater will update any version of 10.2.x. Check this reference (http://www.macfixit.com/index.php?date=2003-02-14).

I used software update, read the reports of potential problems, and then ran the 10.2.4 combo update on top of 10.2.4.
No issues.

I updated via Software update from 10.2.3, and have no problems. I don't think using the combo update from 10.2.3 will cause any problems.
The big benefit of the standalone updater is that you can run it more than once. It's a useful tool for fixing systems that develop problems, and it's much easier to do than a clean install.

Thanks everyone, I'll use the combo update.
I guess the only issue for some people is whether they want to download a 70+ MB file. No problems here though...
