DVD Burning Process: Is there a better way? A faster way?

Is there a faster way to burn DVD's from the finder without copying them to the DVD Icon on the desktop first? At 4 Gb, its taking 45 minutes to copy them on my Powerbook G4, and then the burn time.

Is there a better way to burn DVD's, OTHER THAN TOAST???

I love Toast, but I also like the native burn functions. iDVD burns DVDs, but I'm just using them for data backup, and it just works for movie formats, correct?

I appreciate your help.

Sean
