Slideshow default settings outside of iPhoto

I would like to create a slide show off of a DVD File without downloading it into iPhoto.

I know how to create the slideshow?my question is regarding the default settings? How do you change them?

- When the slide show runs, it plays the photos in sequence; I would like them to display randomly.

- It does not seem to run through all of the photos before it begins repeating photos that were already displayed. How can I set it to not repeat photos until it has at least run through all of them once?

- Can you change the duration time that each photo is displayed?

Remember, I know that you can do all of this through iPhoto. The problem is that I will be using someone else’s computer and I would like to have this functionality without downloading all of my pictures into his photo library.

I have a Mac Mini w/ Tiger.

Can someone help?

Many Thanks in advance.

 Robert
