Wacom USB Tablet Driver ver 4.7.1 might have bugs |
henry_hkg 03-02-2002, 12:40 AM My system iMac DV G3/400, 640MB RAM, 13GB internal HD and 80GB Firewire HD running OS 10.1.3. I have an old Wacom USB Tablet model ET-0405-U.
After I first installed the above driver under OS 10.1, the Wacom mouse works in some application. As I regularly boot into the sigle-user mode to do a /sbin/fsck -y, so I read those message from the system everytime, everything seems to be normal.
After I updated to OS 10.1.2 and booted into the single-user mode, I notice the following message:
verify_kmod() : kmod "com.Wacom.iokit.TabletDriver" has an invalid version.
load_kernel_extension() : load_kmod() failed for kmod "com.Wacom.iokit.TabletDriver".
IOCatalogue : com.Wacom.iokit.TabletDriver cannot be loaded.
The above message does not affect the system in any other way as /sbin/fsck -y still return an OK. I uninstall the Wacom after a re-boot and re-install, the whole thing seems OK and I do not see the above error message in the single-user mode.
The same error appears after I updated the OS to 10.1.3 and I have to uninstall and re-install to correct the error again.
By the way, the Wacom installer package only contains the Wacom Tablet Driver and do not include (1) Tablet Documentations and (2) Tablet Control Panel. However all three items are "check" under the Wacom installer if you choose custom install mode.
I would like to hear the comments from other people who is using the USB Wacom Tablet whether they have a similar situation.
