WEP woes...

I am using an iBook (Dual USB) with an Airport card and OS X. I currently access my home network/internet via a LinkSys WAP11 access point. I am currently running it without encryption.

I have read other users experiences stating that you cannot connect to the LinkSys WAP11 access point with 128 bit WEP unless you enter the password on your client machine (iBook) in hexidecimal.

I have read conflicting reports about exactly how to enter the hex password. Do I start with a $, do I use the format 67716E...etc?

If anyone can shed some light on how I enter my passphrase in hexidecimal in the Airport 'enter password' dialogue, I would appreciate your comments/help!
