A hardware router would be a good choice. I recently bought a D-Link DI-604 for about $30 after $10 mail in rebate and I like it very much. It has the clone MAC address feature so your RoadRunner won't even know about it.
A software router, such as Brickhouse, could be another alternative. It's $25 shareware. But I have had some problems with IP Sharing on my home network with it since the Jaguar upgrade.
There is a D-Link forum on dslreports.com/forum/dlink that is useful although mostly windoze users. Another place for info on networking and various routers is practicallynetworked.com.
For Brickhouse info, try here (http://brianhill.dyndns.org/phpBB/) and versiontracker.com too.
