transfering long file names from win2k -> osx

I have a win2k server with about 120 gb of mp3's. Many of them have long file names (> 32 chars). I am working on retiring the 2k box in favor of osx server (now that I have a spare machine.)

I want to transfer the 2k files to the mac but I can't seem to figure out how to mount the win server volume on the mac without it truncating the long filenames.

I was told that samba would allow me to do this but I can't figure out how to mount a 2k volume this way.

Do I need to go the other way? That is, do I need to mount the mac volume on the 2k machine? via samba?

I can't find any docs on this subject. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

Thanks in advance for any help!
