I was just wondering what exactly that big network world icon is actually used for. (The one that shows up next to your hard drives in the "My computer" folder) Are there any cool things you can do with it?

Thanks,
Gabe Taubman

If you have an OS X Server you can set up shared volumes from the server to automount in the Network area of all clients. You can also place shared applications there as well.

And I believe that NFS mounts are also accessed through this, but can't confirm this as I don't use NFS.
