If you have them both on the same network, then all you need to do is turn on printer sharing for the one with the printer attached. Make sure that computer has the printer listed in it's print center. Then go to the other machine's print center and it should have the printer listed with the line highlighted in a pink color.

nothing on the actual machines but one on a router that can be shut off.

After printer sharing has been turned on on the host computer, go to the other computer and add a new printer to the print center. Select the ip printing option. Put in the ip address of the host computer and add ":631". It will complain about the ip address may not be right. You may need to name the queue the same as what the print center on the host calls it. Also change it from generic to the particular printer you are using. If it does not work also try taking off the ":631".
I take it they are not behind the same router? Also be aware if you are using NAT you will need to configure the router to forward port 631 through it.
Note: I have not actually tried this, but it seems like it should work?? I can try it on monday at work.

the computer with the printer attached is not inside the network with the router.
that is a good enough start for me. i will give that a go tomorrow. if you want to try it that is fine. post your results.
