problem installing Fink

Can anyone tell we what I can do to fix tis problem trying to install Fink 0.23.10. I downloaded the soure from SourceForge. Followed instruction on homepage. Everthing going good until this happened after choosing mirror for SourceForge. Error message below:

Writing updated configuration to '/sw/etc/fink.conf'...
Bootstrapping a base system via /sw/bootstrap.
Reading package info...
Updating package index... done.
Undefined subroutine &Fink::VirtPackage::gen_compile_script called at /Users/Chefkww/fink-0.23.10/perlmod/Fink/VirtPackage.pm line 719.

What do I do Uninstall (if so, how) or try a earlier version?

This is a new error to me, right now I don't know why this is happening.

There's a typo in fink-0.23.10 source code. Use 0.23.9; according to the ChangeLog, most ofthe fixes in the .10 release are specific for Tiger users (you don't say your OS), and affect a small number of packages. Selfupdate will probably always crash at the end until 0.23.11 gets released, but no harm. Instead of 'fink update-all', try 'fink list -ot' to see which pkgs are old and then update them by name as desired.

Thanks that did it. 0.23.9 worked fine.
