esc code

hi, i was wondering why the following esc code didn't work in the mac Terminal:

printf "\033[3q"

i tried it out on a linux box and it worked (this esc code turns on the caps lock lite). i have tested out other esc codes (such as printing in bold, closing windows, etc.), and they all seem to work except this one. can someone please tell me why it doesnt work in the mac terminal?

I think that is hardware specific.

do u know if there is an esc code which can do this in the mac terminal?

i had a cool morse code program that used the lights to "print" out a message

Here you actually truning on the caps lock, or just finding some way to "cheat" and make the light come on?

He's trying to control the LEDs programatically.

general, I think your best bet will be to look through the Apple developer's documentation. Maybe even take a look at the Darwin source code.
