This and all Digital Video Forums are wide open to Google search

Dear Forum members:
As far as the concept of privacy on the Internet: It does not exist. I was very surprised to find out though that comments I have made on one of the forums was directly linked to Google search. Why bother having a username and password if the forums are wide open. Disclaimers aside I think the forums might want to look at what is being said by users and how their comments could be taken out of context.:bartmoon:

Hi spazzman40

Your username and PSW are there to protect you from other people saying or doing something in your name.

Part of the mods and admin's job is indeed to make sure that what folks are saying are within forum rules.

@spazzman40

this forum is open to anyone and thus it is open to any searchbot - google or any other search engine

nobody needs privacy in here because we have nothing to hide

as blutach already said: you have to register in order to be able to POST but not in order to be able to read

searchbots acquiring this forum's content make our questions and answers available to others, which should be considered useful rather than invading anyones privacy

Wikipedia definition of a Internet Forum:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum

Participants in Internet forums should realize that what they have to say will be public knowledge for years to come.

If you don't want anybody to know it is you don't tell anyone what your username is. Some people even use different usernames on different forums.

If you don't want people to see what you type, don't type it.

I found this forum through google while searching for answers to my problems with media(and they are many)
I'm glad that google led me here or I'd still be looking at green bars in my movies. I'm a fan of searchbots for the purpose of research, and if you don't like it then flick the off switch on your computer and enjoy some quiet reading time by the fire.:confuse4:

I found these forums thanks to Newgroups back in 2003. The Shrink sub forum wasn't that old as it had only just been released.
