Read the Golden Rules of Burning in my signature.

What media are you using? The burner doesn't recognise it (although it knows it's a +R as it knows there are 4482Mb free on the disk).

Also see "Interpret Nero's Error Codes" in my signature.

also, another possible problem. my dvd drive gave out about a month ago so i got hp to send me a new one, exact copy. yet ever since then ive been having the trouble w/ the media recognition. never had any problem like that before.

any drivers i should download? i mean ive got like 140 of these discs and i dont just want them to be coasters, lol.

See if the drives' firmware is up to date. Made all the difference for my drive after I updated it.

According to this page (http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1902) the latest firmware for your drive is 1A14, and you already have that. What media are you using? Have you tried to burn with DVDDecrypter?

You still haven't told us what media you are using now, but anyway doesn't it seem odd that your original drive worked ok with this media but the replacement won't. If I were you, I'd contact HP and request another replacement with anything but this same model. You aren't the only one who has had trouble with this drive, check the comments here
