Does the hardware have to be changed or is it a software hack? I just wanted to know becasue the region 2 players are cheaper than the MR ones and if it is only software that need changing it might be possible to do it myself.

As far as I'm aware, it's a hardware only mod I'm afraid, in common with all Sonys.

No it is just a matter of finding the cheapest place to buy the multi region from. The best so far is Techtronics @ ?33.49 delivered. Any better than that?
