Major Diarrhia Jan 25th 2006, 7:22pm What I find interesting is that they say they only have the TV series rights but they are using TOS movie ships. I recently read about the CBS Viacom split and it left the question of who owns the Star Trek movie rights? It's weird but considering that these games only have the rights to the series, or so they say and it was stated Legacy won't have the Enterprise-E, the Sovereign Class from the TNG movies, it seems that CBS doesn't own the rights to the movies. How weird is that.

The movie ships they can technically get away with. Excelsiors, Miranda's, and Oberth's have been clearly used many times. The Constitution has been seen in a fuzzy shot of the Wolf 359 aftermath, on the model wall on the E-D, and on several computer screens through the years.
They should be able to use them.
The only thing it would seem they couldn't use is the Sovereign, Scimitar, Valdore, and the Son'a ships.
Lokan Jan 25th 2006, 8:15pm Urr, Legacy looks half decent, but the screenshots from Tactical Assault look like something from the original Playstation :p

Which means CBS Consumer Products may very well not have the right to distribute the movie rights.

still they miss out on one of the most beautifull star trek ships out there, the sovereign class, lets hope they have a good replacement (nearly the same model but with minor changes)

could they possibly use achilles-class starships as a substitute for the sovereign?:p
