...that... was one HELL of a rush.
I sincerely hope we get two things from Monolith in the near future;
1.) A sequel/expansion pack
2.) another Alien vs Predator game based off of this completely awesome game engine.

Can't describe it any better than that. Probably the most visceral FPS I've ever played.

Havn't played any other fps to date where shooting and kicking people has such a nice cunchy feel; i.e you can almost hear those bones breaking..

Wow... That was certainly different... tho not terribly original
Word of warning... Dont let your kids play this game.... it'll mess them up for years....
They kind of mixed 'The Ring' and a lot of cinematography into the game which definately made it very cool and engaging...
The levels were some what dull as every room looks the same....
The combat is very cool.. They have taken half a dozen things that make fps combat awesome and they have perfected it...
Cool guns...
Cool Secondary effects of weapons
Cool Design treatments in the matrix combat
Very tactical Ai (although by the end of the game you can kinda guess what they are going to do) [For example if your firing..and there hiding... they wont come out until you stop firing... If they go behind a corner for more than 2 seconds.. chances are there flanking you.... If you kill most of there team mates they run away..]
however thats really all they have done.... still a lot missing in this game.... like a story line... sure there was heaps of cool shots of ghosts walking around you walking down corridors of blood.... but it didnt really go anyway.... except to scare the living shit out of you.....
cinematography, cool matrix combat and attention to sound design make this game sweet... other than that theres a big gaping hole in Level design and plot....
Plotwise...
-The FEAR group werent very well established... neither were the characters....(and you never fight with them either?)
-The relationship between you and the little girl and the blood sucking dude wasnt fleshed out very well.... if it was it was very cryptic....
-Why there was a massive explosion at the end was kinda confusing?
-What was the blood sucking guys motive for trying to find the little girl...
And you didnt get the girl..... whats with that?

If you were paying attention to the end, you could have easily figured out the relationship between the Pointman, Alma, and Fettle.
Why there was a massive explosion at the end was kinda confusing?
That would be the direct result of your actions. Given that you, sort of shot at the reactor. Now, my theory is that we're talking about some sort of anti-matter reactor, since a nuclear one wouldn't explode like that.
-What was the blood sucking guys motive for trying to find the little girl...
If you were paying attention, all this is explained. Alma is Fettle's mother, and she had some sort of psychic hold over him. (See: Synchronicity event.) The first time you see Fettle in person (end of level 1, at Auburn) he explains that he has trouble distinguishing between his memories, and Alma's. My guess is that Alma is slowly overwriting his mind, since at the end, he doesn't really resist you. Presumeably because she's already free (or about to be,) and she doesn't need Fettle any more.
It seems likely she only cares about you, her first-born child.
And you didnt get the girl..... whats with that?
So? Jin wasn't too easy on the eyes anyway. :p Besides, it's not like you really need to get the girl. The Pointman isn't Duke Nukem.
Oh, and for god's sake, stop using a silly alternate font. It makes quoting you an annoyance since I have to delete around twenty *font][/font] tags.
