Really F*ing stupid game servers

I had a server on CS that was custom so if you tried to buy the AWP, ti would warn you. Do it again and it would kick you. It then had a message in the chat that said whoever had disconnected and another message calling them an AWP whore.

It was the same thing. Why not just block it? Why kick people for trying to buy it.


Another CS one was a server that always seemed to have a mod on it, who enforced their no swearing policy...and then promptly told you to shut the fuck up. Hypocrticial bastards. Had another server where the mods hacked if looked and would kick anyone else even ACCUSED of using a hack. (I'd spectate one and he always headshotted with the glock...)

My first one is a generic example, but came from CS. I was on a server that had a word filter. You swear and its automaticaly censored out so no one sees it. But it gets better. The server was set to also warn you for swearing and kick you for attempting to swear more then once. Whats the fucking point? The swear words are filtered. Are you kicking them to be vindictive little pricks?.

So they can't allow people to swear, but they don't have any problems with helping people virtually run around and kill each other?

BF2 server, in the first seconds i'm already in a killing spree and start offing people by the dozens.

30 seconds later, banned from the server for not joining a squad.

Mainly mods who would kick you if you killed them, particularly on BF1 & 2.
Pussies.

The only problems I've had were spawn killers on the various ET servers

I've never had any of those problems. The only ones would be the usual TKers.

Another stupid CS server.

I was on one CS server that billed itself as "Deathmatch CS". Their rules were this.

You will always run straight at the enemy.
You may only back off from the enemy to reload your gun.
You may never walk.

What a fucking retarded set of rules. Yeah, their server, their rules. Well fuckem.

So I'm playing on Dust as terrorist and I find my team is a complete bunch of fucking retards. They rush the topside building entrance and get slaughtered every single time. I go the bottom route and I am walking. My team gets annihilated. So I start wandering around slowly trying to stay alive. The admin suddenly pops up a message.

"Start running"

I ignore him.

He admin slaps me.

I ignore him.

He admin slaps me and tells me to start running.

I ignore him.

He admin slaps me until I have 30% life left. This noise gave away my position, but the enemies only attack one at a time. I slaughter every single one of them. After this the admin was strangely quiet and my team was hooting, they loved that I pulled it off. I gave the admin the finger and he left me alone.

UT Pro servers.

I played one CS server, scoped weapons were banned. That was alright, actually. Kinda funny. If you tried to buy one, you'd actually buy it, but you'd get a "no scoped weapons allowed" message, and you'd force drop it. A pretty big pile could actually be built up... Anyways. One of the admins ranked #1 on the server by banning anyone who ever killed him.

I don't recall what game it was, but Denzine was playing on a no-PK server where there was a Level 1 character going around and killing people. The mods were apparently in on it.

Oh, and our TAU XMP server. E1 apparently tried to collect every single map and mutator on it. Sometimes, things got... interesting (http://emergencypower.hostedz.com/Screenshots/XMP/Batch3/Shot00119.jpg) (yeah, those are all me).

EDIT: TAU XMP was really stupid when anyone thinks about it, but a lot of people seemed to love the wacky shit. And "how many respawns does it take to kill Lock&Tone when he's doing his thing" developed into a bit of a sub-game every now and then.

Any server that considers a ping higher than 100 as a bootable offense.

That, and any mods that end up giving you the clan's custom (read: shitty) menu background and such.

God, I hate any server that auto-kicks at a high ping. Unless that person has a ping thats above 500, don't fucking kick them. People with a shitty ping do NOT slow down the server.

Same thing as Alyeska; Playing Americas Army, you swear and you get the **** replacing it. NExt thing a horde of admins come down on you saying 'mind you language' and other pathetically fucked up comments. *** again and your kicked. THe best part is the filter is so fucked up it treats alot of non-swear words as swear words. Try have a normal conversation and 9/10 you get **** and then the oppers pissing all over you once again. Man that ticks me off.

I think I remember something like that, I may recall the filter blocking "God". But back then I don't remember any kicks for a little **** going on.

Wrong. One player with a shitty connection does NOT affect other players. And people with a shitty connetion are easier to kill because they move and react slower. This is why low ping players can kill high ping players so much easier.

Wrong again, latency can create lag armour on a target, if I hit you with Several dozen shots and you absorb it and have a >300+ ping you have approx 1-3 seconds of extra life you shouldn't have. In that time if you have a insta kill weapon you would be able to get a kill you realistically shouldn't have gotten. Trust me Alyeska, I know networks and I-Net connections. Slowest connections dictate the response of other players. There is a reason why there are "Host issues" when people play someone who is the "host" since he has zero latency, same thing but reversed. The only one who would not have latency against a lagger is if someone was playing on the host machine.

That problem can be blamed entirely on the game makers for not properly network coding the game. It is quite possible to code the game to make this a non issue. CS Source, BF1942, BF2. The problem you talk about does not exist in those games.

lets c playin et carnage map.. im at the beach and i shoot at a the bunker at the top of the map, i killed most or all the clan members of this server, and i get booted, i get called for being a panzer whore, pussy, and the ironic thing is.
1, name of server is panzers only,
2 panzer is the only selectable wpn....
