Seriously, what the hell is up with your spelling. We've got people from Poland, Denmark, we've driven off Frenchies, they all manage it.

It depends, SPQR is more like vanilla RTW, but a heck of a lot prettier from what I can tell.

EB is much more realistic and historically accurate, although it's still in Beta and it's not completely finished yet, still has a few bugs and not all of it's units. On the other hand, EB proves that historical accuracy is still great fun, especially with Bactria. Hellenic and Eastern units? You can't do wrong with Phalanxes and eastern archers and horse archers. Dear God, properly used, Bactrian armies just utterly brutalize people. Especialy with the light persian style infantry units with spears and bows. Get about eight of them and watch them destroy things with arrows.

He's "different". :p

And I had noticed a distinct lack of Frogs here. How did you get rid of them?

Racism, Idiocy, but mostly Racism from Idiots.

I enjoyed playing Rome Total Realism 6.0. Haven't tried other mods, through.

I'd assumed you'd have just hinted at insulting them, and instantaneously they dropped all of their weapons and surrendered. :p

If you mean insulting Frenchpeople, I do that enough with Quebecers. :P No reason to branch out towards France itself.

But to what extent does the bugs and missing features affect the playability of EB? Is the beta good enough for me to download and play with right now? Or should I just get some other mod to use while waiting for EB to finish?

Well, they're still sorting through most of the bugs, but the vast majority of them are minor and don't hinder playability. There are a few game stopping ones though, but one has a fix up, just requires a few quick C&Ps, and the other doesn't always happen. Sometimes armies don't merge right and it crashes, but that's pretty rare and usually clears up just by reloading from the last save. There's also a few recruitment bugs, but again, fixes have been posted for most of those. And if you go through the file that lists all the buildings and what they can recruit, you'll understand why a few of those slipped through. The fixes are mostly just C&Ps, and the Bactrians are really the only ones that suffer from the recuiting mess up and just for three of their units. Of course, I think the Epirotes also suffer from that with their best infantry unit, but again, an easy fix.

It's definately good enough to play, although not all the units are in at this point, you probably won't much notice because there's plenty of variety.

Interesting. I've looked at the EB website and they even changed the map. I'm wondering though, in terms of look and graphics, did they downgrade somewhat from the original version? Or is the graphical quality of the units and the map still the same? It looks like they completely changed everything. I doubt the Imperial campaign with the three Roman factions even exists anymore. Either way, when I finish my first vanilla game I'll probably try and get the mod just to try it out. I am a fan of historical accuracy.

Worse, no, things look much, much better now and much more realistic. Infact the best looking unit in the game right now is probably either the Hetarioi or the Baktrian Agemata. The Agemata is just stunning really.

As for the Romans, no the three Roman factions thing is gone, there's just on united faction, which controls an historical accurate amount of territory. Just make sure you pay attention to all of the instructions and keep advice on. You need the advice on to activate all their scripting so you can get the four turn years and such.
