Is it possible to share a wireless internet connection from dsl between a mac and a pc through a non-apple router such as netgear or linksys? If so, what do i need to do to my ibook, do i need to enable my airport extreme? i'm new to the wireless world and need help. I'm not sure how to do any of this stuff. I am currently running OSX 10.4 (current update) and the other computer is windows XP and we currently share a wired internet connection through a d-link router. I just want to go wireless. thank you in advance for your advice.

p.s. the modem is already in bridge mode so would i have to put the wireless router in bridge mode as well?

Yes, it will work just fine. I use a linksys AP on my router for my ibook at home with no issues.

The modem will connect into the router and then the router will assign ips to each machine on your network. For your ibook just make sure you set up your airport card to be able to connect. Then it should see the router you have installed. It will be called linksys or netgear by default (depending on which one you buy) just make sure you connect to it. There are plenty of security settings which I am not going to get into in this thread, but I am sure you can go through the manual of your router and it will walk you through them.
