Slow Fast User Switching

Hi,

whenever I invoke the password panel via the fast user switching menu, the panel appears, but waaaaay too slow (it worked great before). I immediately see the panel and I can already type my password, but the hidden password bullets only appear after 10 seconds (from that point on I can also press Enter to switch).

Is there anyone who can solve my slow user switching problem or should I consider a reinstallation of Tiger (I repaired permissions, but don't really have the time to reinstall)?

TIA,
Jasper.

Try disabling Fast User Switching, rebooting, and then re-enabling it.

Before you use the Fast User Switching, launch Activity Monitor and look to see what programs are using significant CPU. Quit those programs before switching.
