I think that is the point of these types of awards. They dont have to be only for the famous. I am sure all those receiving will be well known within the communities they contribute to.

Interesting write up about Tawera Nikau. I only knew him for his league, didnt realise all the other good work he had been doing since.

The whole point of these awards is to recognise people who do so much work without being given a pat on the back.
