Denon 3910 - Digital or Analog? which is better?

Any views?
I did a brief comparison, couldn't see much difference. Problem: My Sky HD box arrives next week. I need to move the HDMI cable from Denon to Sky Box. However, I do already have a 10m Ixos Component cable (?00) run to my Proj.
My thoughts are: do I share the HDMI between Sky and Denon? or do I resign the Denon to component (which will have to go through my AVR 3805)?.
I guess try it and see, but would be interested in views.

I suspect you will be quite happy with the component output of the 3910. I have used it on mine and find the results perfectly watchable (and for what a 3910 costs I should think so too!).

Thanks, do you use the component switching facility on your AVR 3805? I'm worried about losing quality if i go via the 3805. This will give me 2 other component sources over the 10m single cable to the proj. Cheaper too!

I had no perceptable reduction in quality from direct connection. The 3805 is designed to pass HD resolutions over component and does so very well.

Yes, I've found no difference in quality going via my 3805 for component.

I could never wholly decide which I preffered on the 3910: component, or HDMI, they both had their respective +'s & -'s
