Not necessarily. Some player's analog Component Outputs can give a better image.

In theory, HDMI should be better because there are less conversions taking place from digital to analogue and vice versa between the dvd itself and the image on the screen. However, this is not always the case because as with most things, you could have a better quality component output on one DVD player than an HDMI out on another.
If you had two models of the same type side by side going into identical screens with identical quality connecting cables then the HDMI would probably look better ( as long as the settings were right :suicide: )
In short, there's too many variables to give a definitive answer really and it's also going to be subjective because what looks good to my eyes might look rubbish to yours...

actuall the pio F/S/XDE range is one where HDMI pic is normaly superior as the Component inputs are, well, perhaps not as good, as they perhaps could be
