Not the answer you're looking for about scripts but what about configuring Entourage to "leave mail on server"?
Meaning that it will check your mail but not delete it from the POP3 server of your provider, that way if you forget to close Entourage and it keeps getting your mail they are also still on the Server for you to check with Webmail Page.
Other options in Entourage where is will delete old messages off the server after a set period of time (e.g. 7 days) or when you manually tell it to delete files.
