Right after discovering the dreaded chroma bug on the sony ns76 i decided on this panny as a replacement:

has anyone heard anything about this player? all i could find was this info site, detailing features and saying its free of the chroma bug:

I have tried 2 different players now to replace my toshiba sd 240e which was bought for 50 quid from tesco 2 years ago.
and to my absolute amazement, nothing has come close in term of picture quality!!???
i've tried the pioneer 696 and the deinterlacing was as weak as i've ever seen.
then i tried the sony ns76 and that wasnt much better and had the dreaded chroma bug.
i'm hoping the panny will be a worthy little replacement as i'm seriously sick of trying to find a dvd player which does what its supposed to via component video......put out a proper deinterlaced picture. i wouldnt even consider the sony or pioneers ps to be true progressive scan as its much weaker than the deinterlacing on my tv.
fingers crossed!!

Ive found the panasonic picture to be very good I have a DMR-ES10 recorder which gives a great picture via component on progressive and interlaced. I think alot of these cheap new HDMI upscaling players are doing just that and people are being blinded by technology.....Dont get me wrong some are good the farroudja based ones look fantastic
Ive heard the component picture on the Toshiba 360 is meant to be very crisp!
I've just bought this model, and its great. The picture quality via component is superb on normal DVDs, but I bought it for Divx playback, which it excels at.

yep just got it yesterday, and the picture via component BLOWS both sonys ns76, and pioneer 490/696 players out of the water.
chroma bug free, superb menu's with a LOAD of features that other makers dont have. brilliant for the money.
