I own a Samsung DVD-HD850 connected to a Tosh 37WLT58, no problems.
So how many people have suffered this problem?

Not sure how common it is, i think it may only affect the '66 range but need to confirm before forking out £800+ on a new TV!
I read it in the letter's section of what hi-fi from a couple of months ago, they had it confirmed by toshiba and Samsung but didn't state which models it affects. May only be the model used by the person asking for advice, I think they were using an all-in-one system.
If anybody can categorically confirm/deny if this problem exhists it would be a massive help?

So we are not talking about the HD860 but some all-in-one. If there was a problem with the 860 and a TOSH TV then it would be in this forum somewhere, worth a deeper search?

The letter to what hi-fi related to one specific model but the what hi-fi reply stated that after contacting toshiba and samsung that there was a compatibility issue between the two brands (samsung dvd players & tosh TVs), but it didn't specify models.
I have searched through these forums for the past couple of days and haven't found anything. Posted this thread just to make sure.
Out of curiosity, what's the performance like with your screen and the Samsung HD850?

Brilliant, no compliants at all, it is wired via HDMI and set to output 1080i. Watching the latest films I sometimes wonder what extra HD is going to give me, so to that end I shall not be jumping onto the HD bandwagon yet until things settle a bit and prices drop.

well that settles it then, think I'm gonna take a punt on the 37wlt68, seen it for £929 incl delivery on digital direct. But I am tempted by a 40 inch Samsung going for £760 on curry's website. Think the Tosh will be the better performer but £760 is a great price for a 40 inch screen!!
So Tosh or Sammy, which is better??
