Cheap DVD player that doesn't freeze

Hi,

I'm looking for a very cheap (?0-?0) 'interim' DVD player that won't freeze when watching a disk. I've noticed people have been recommending a Toshiba SD-360 but I've got an older version of this one and it's absolutely unbearable - sometimes it plays well, sometimes it freezes half way through the film you've been enjoying and sometimes it refuses to play after about 10 mins.

Are there any of the DVD/DivX cheapo players that people were recommending a year ago or so - like Yamada and Umax - still around? Or something similar?

Anyway, the DivX compatibility would be a bonus; I'm mainly bothered about normal DVDs not getting stuck all the time!

Try to get hold of any Pioneer model before the ones with HDMI connectivity.
To be more specific, 575 and 585 are great players and should fit within your budget :smashin:

I used to have a Yamada 6700 but it stopped reading discs. After trying many different 'cheap' divx dvd players the best two are the Peekton 6006 and the Phillips DVP-5960 for compatability and firmware upgrades.

It does upscale and also has a USB port so for those reasons alone it would have to be my favourite.
