No one got any ideas at ?? :lease:
I had a similar problem with a Toshiba SD220 - except it was the sound on both channels that would deteriorate - crackling and hissing is a good way of describing it.
Can't have bee nthe SCART in my case as I got a Tosh SD350, and connected by the same SCART - it's been fine

Only had it a little over two years .. booo! Oh well
Would you recomend the SD350, is it an improvement on the SD340E?

I don't know if the SD350 is an improvement over the 340, but comparing it to the SD220 I would say the following:
Picture quality is as good, if not better
Audio is very good - when playing CDs it is not much worse than my Cd player (?50 7 years ago)
Build quality is very flimsy - I've had heavier sandwiches! The disc tray is very shallow, and makes loading discs difficult, especially for the kids.
Picture and audio tweaks are not as good as the 220.
The blue light across the front of the disc tray is so bright you can read by it. It can be turned of from the set-up menu, but this has to be done each time it's switched on. I've stuck some insulating tape over each end of the tray to minimise the light output.
Overall, I would say it's an excellent machine for the ?0 or so they go for on Amazon and elsewhere. I just don't expect to be using it in two years time given the build quality!
