Upscalers?

I was thinking of getting an upscaler dvd player for my HDTV.

My TV only has 1 dvi port qhich is used by my Xbox 360, and I noticed most of these players have HDMI ports.

My question is, do I need to use a HDMI/dvi port to upscale or can I just use scart?

If I need to use a port but don't have one spare, can I just use the player via scart without any problems? (not upscaling)

:lease:

Upscaling is only through HDMI, Scart will not produce an upscaled image. However the player will work perfectly well with any connection including scart.
