LG DNX-190UH - What File Types Can IT Really Play?

First ever post on these very useful forums.

Just recently bought a new tv (Toshiba 37WLT66) and the upscaling LG DNX-190UH Dvd player connected via the HDMI port.

DVD playback is excellent as to be expected but I seem to be having "issues" with the DVD player handling certain file types on USB or DVD.

For example I am trying to watch some episodes of the BBC Series Planet Earth in HD Format (720p) to see what real HDTV actually looks like on my new setup, here are the file properties:-

Image Resolution:- 1280 x 720

File Length Correct
DivX Style "packed bitstream" AVI
Multipart OpenDML AVI (2 parts)
(68234 frames in first part, 4127 frames follow)
Interleave: 1 vid frame (40 ms), preload=480
Audio frames: Split across interleaves

Codec - xvid
Name - XviD 1.2 SMP

MPG4

I can view them absolutely fine here on my PC using various applications but burning the video to a Dvd "as is" lists the file on the DVD player but when trying to play it back it just gives up the ghost, do I need to re-size / re-encode them?

Any help on trying to get these videos to play would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. It does play some video filetypes fine on DVD or USB.
