Arcam DV88 plus no picture on my plasma via AVR250?

Hi all,
After years of Arcam music system components I've sold up and gone for a S/H Arcam AVR250 and DV88plus.

But, i cant get a picture on my samsung 42ps s5h plasma via component connection either direct from the DVD or direct from the AV? The TV says no signal (not no connection) would this require tweaking via the TV or the AV? It works via scart direct from the DVD but also not via composite from the Amp?

I'm sure it's something very simple and i'm just not seeing it clearly (new toy blindness)

Any help would be greatfully received

Trevor

Dear mods I have posted this on a couple of forums because I dont know if it is the TV, the cable or the AV!! Thanks

Sounds like the DV88+ needs to be selected to component out on the video set up menu. It's probably on RGB SCART for you to get a SCART picture.

yep turn the player on and hit the setup button.. should be a option on the first/second page for output..

Thanks for the quick reply is that component selected on the DVD player ie Component out OR on the AV ie component in?

Hello T123VOR

Its probably easier to start with the Player direct to your TV - once you have that working on 'Component' Out you can then introduce the AV Receiver into the signal path.

Hook up the Component and SCART cables from the DVD player to the TV and use the on-screen menus via the SCART Input to begin with and reset the player to Component Out - now when you switch the TV to Component In you should see the player.

Now connect the player's Component Out via the AV Receiver - again you may want to start with the Composite 'Monitor' Out from The AV Receiver into the TV so you can see the AV Receivers set-up menus so you can configure it for Component In and Out from the DVD player.

Best regards

Joe

PS Ensure your putting everything into Standby when your plugging and unplugging cables.
