You'll get RGB via SCART which, provided you use a decent cable, should give you better results than S-Video.

Thanks...
Just wasnt sure if the better scart connection was better than using the 2600 (as this is suppose to do upscaling to nice digital hdmi stuff...)
i'd be inclined to try the upscaling though.

Thanks - I will try both...:)
By the way, on the forum many people mention what i imagine is resolutions (ie 1080i etc...) Do you know what my 717 outputs? and what it might be able to upscale to with the 2600?

Can you connect both ways? Connecting S-Video to the receiver, the latter performs A/D conversion, then presumably upconverts to component in digital, and deinterlaces for hdmi/analogue-component output, and upscales for HDMI output. Also, will the Yam upscale to the native res. of you panel? It does 480p, 720p, and 1080i, I think.

Your 717 outputs 480i, and can't deinterlace/upscale (also, no component outs). Your receiver upscales to 720p and 1080i, I think, but only through HDMI, otherwise it deinterlaces to 480p thru component, AFAIK. It's usually only worth upscaling before the panel, if you can match the latter's native rez., else it'll have to re-scale.
