Hey, what a good little player. I've just brought this from Tesco at ?2.97 and I'm well impressed with the picture quality and the connectivity on offer. Got it for the bedroom with my old CRT television. The review in the latest (Feb Issue 138) issue of Home Cinema is good too.
It plays multi-format discs, has DTS support, and it supports surround sound. The picture quality is good for the price, it doesn't upscale though and you can even make it mutil-region by remote hack; Switch on, open tray, enter 9, 7, 3, 6, then 0 for multi-region. The DVD is slim and is so quiet too.
On the back it has progressive component sockets, composite, S-video, Coaxial audio, and Scart.
Anyone else got this DVD player? Have you experienced any problems with it?
I've just bought one today as a cheap, compact unit to take on holiday. Thanks for the hack, I will try it out tonight and let you know what I think of the player in general.
I tried the player out last night. It seems very capable and gives good output via scart, composite, s-video and incredibly progressive scan (576p) via component. The hack worked very well, I tried a region 1 disc first of all which it rejected and then implemented the hack and it then accepted and played the disc, no problem.
As I said above, I only wanted a cheap, compact player to take away and not have to worry about getting damaged or stolen and this fits the bill admirably.

Does it play CDs at all (both normal audio and MP3)?
