I noticed that one or two people have already bought the Samsung HD860. It's available from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000F4PF2O/qid%3D1144414504/202-9969710-8157420)
What are your general views on the box?
How is the picture quality?
I am not fussed about xViD and DivX as I dont tend to watch much in that format.
For me, I want to connect it to my Panasonic PX60 tv via HDMI to deliver video and audio (is this possible? having blonde moment) or will it sound like crap? I dont have an amp/receiver as yet.

Any views on this, my mother in law is looking for a cheap HDMI upscaler and this could be the ticket.
Any word if the annoying glitches in the 850 have been ironed out yet?

Also interested in more info on the HD860.
Is the upscaling output res 1366x768 (rather than 1024x768 as the HD950 apparently is)?
Has anywhere done a review yet?
Are Samsung still bundling an HDMI cable in the box?

There is a review of Samsung HD950 in http://www.homecinemachoice
in January 2006 (go to the review section).
I guess that it should be very similar to HD860.
