Snazio SZ1350 vs XBMC

Hi

I currently have a modded xbox running XBMC and it works very well. I have just bought a Samsung LCD LE32R41 and would like to get a DVD player than runs through HDMI/DVI for upscaling and a better picture but also plays Xvid/Divx/AC3 5.1/WMA/MP3.

Can anyone recommend a Snazio over XBMC - XBMC seems to play everything on the planet (apart from DVR-MS, but I can get round that another way), but its noisy and ugly and works through a lowly SCART connection. Does anyone have both and able to compare?

Yes, I can recommend a Snazio over XBMC. It plays everything the XBMC does, it's not noisy and it does upscaling pretty well.

Cool thanks. Can you confirm that it plays AC3 5.1 soundtracks? Many of these players only seem to decode AC3 in 2 channels.

It plays 5.1 soundtracks, but also allows you to choose "stereo"...
