Oppo and Haier L32V6-A

Hi,
I bought said tv a few months ago (kinda wish I hadn't as I didn't really know what I was looking for!) Anyway having got the tv I needed a dvd player to go along with it. Having looked and seen the amount of praise the Oppo player has got from you guys I thought I would go for it. Now the problem. Having connected the player up via dvi to the tele, I was expecting great things, however what I actually got was and still is crap! I've fiddled with all the possible settings i can find yet still no joy. The picture is a lot worse than my girlfriends fairly old sony connected via scart, now of course I would have thought it would be far better. The colour is awful, all blocky and is extremely washed out, details very poor and just generally a horrible picture. So my question is, is it the player or the tv? I'm guessing the tv seeing as it's a cheapy from ebuyer, but are there cases of dodgy Oppo's? And is it possible to go to your local Currys and Comet and connect your own stuff up to see how things look on possible future purchases?
Cheers
Edd

Someone reported similar problems with their new Oppo via DVI recently. Certainly the pic should look stunning. Either it's a display / player incompatability, or a dodgy lead, or the player is faulty, or the TV is faulty. Sorry I can't be more help!

If you can, try the component output from the oppo. If it looks far better than DVI then there's definitely something amiss 'caus the Oppo's component output is pants.
